Why should I take classes at The Acting Spot
Acting Spot is a training and workshop facility that has top acting Hollywood-based acting classes that teach you more than just how to act. Our coaches bring live, hands-on experience and concepts that will help the actor learn how to increase their callback ratios, and be seen as a professional in the business. You will learn how to "take a meeting," the do's and don'ts of auditioning, and how to best prepare yourself to book jobs.What types of classes do you offer
We offer a variety of acting classes covering many different subjects. All our classes are first broken down by age. Basically we provide Commercial Classes and Film/Television classes (which include improv, on-camera technique, auditioning skills, cold-reading, breaking down copy/sides etc.), and Casting Director Workshops. We occasionally also do business of Entertainment classes as well for our adult actors and parents or younger actors.What is the cost of the acting classes
All 2-hour classes cost $200 per month (4 classes) or $375 for two consecutive months. All 1.5 hour classes cost $175 per month (4 months) or $325 for two consecutive months.What do I bring to class
For actors 6 years and up, please bring a notebook and pen (to take notes), a good attitude, and a willingness to have funHow should I dress for class
You should generally come in comfortable clothes that will allow you to move around, but if you will be in an on-camera class, wear different outfits so that you can start to learn what colors and clothing styles look best on you. Please play around with various hairstyles as well so that you can learn what is your best hairstyle(s).What class is best for me
It all depends on your skill level and age. We will best determine what class will suit you best after speaking with you about how much prior training you have already had, your goals, and/or auditioning you to see your acting skill level.What if I miss a class
If you miss a class due to a professional audition or a booking, it will be excused. The class credit will be applied to your next purchased session as a discount. Any other reason for missing class will not be excused.Can I take acting classes just for fun
Sure. Acting Spot has several beginner acting classes that anyone can take. However, we expect you to act like a professional in class.How do I list my acting class on my resume
When adding your acting class to your resume please put under the Training heading and name the type of class you enrolled in. Examples of the various types of classes would be the following: Commercial Acting, Improv, Cold Reading, On-camera, Scene Study, etc. Please follow example below:
