The Acting Spot may at any time revise these Terms and Conditions by updating this posting. You are bound by such revisions and should therefore periodically visit this page to review the current Terms and Conditions to which you are bound.
Availability of classes, workshops, course times, photo shoot dates and times, fees, instructors and program requirements are subject to change without notice.

Payments:

Payments can be made by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover & American Express), check, money order or cash. Check and money order payments can be sent to Acting Spot 6230 Wilshire Blvd. #189, LA CA 90048 and made payable to Acting Spot. Please write your driver's license number on all personal checks.

Bounced check fees:

There is a $30 fee for each bounced check made out to The Acting Spot.

Refund Policies:

It is Acting Spot's general policy never to issue refunds unless proper notice has been given. Proper notice means within 72 hours from the date of purchase. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule any photo shoot, workshop, or class if we determine there are not enough registered students to make them a valuable experience.

Classes & Casting Director Workshops

Classes & Workshops:

This is not a job, interview, or audition. The presence of a casting director is neither a guarantee nor a promise of employment. The intent of the class is solely educational. Attending a workshop is not a way to obtain employment as an actor. Such contact as you may have with a casting director at a workshop rarely results in further contact with that casting director or any company affiliated with that casting director

Attendance:

In the event of an excused absence (absence due to a professional audition, booking, death in the immediate family, or severe contagious illness [doctor's note required]), you will receive a prorated quote on the class session immediately following the class that your absence occurred. No student will be allowed to come to a partial session. We do this to ensure the integrity of the lesson plan.

Credits:

In order to receive any credit for an absence, you must notify Acting Spot via email describing the reason why you were absent, and receive an email from Acting Spot validating the excuse.

Behavior Class Rules:

It is important in the entertainment industry to always be on time, therefore, no student will be allowed to enter class after 20 minutes past the class start time. Any student that is disruptive in class (determined at the teacher's discretion) will be warned. If they continue to be disruptive, the teacher will remove them from class. No refunds or credit will be given in the case of a student being removed from class due to behavior issues. Examples of disruptions:

Talking while a teacher is talking.
Talking while another student is being taped.
Horseplay, banging on the walls, not listening to the teacher, etc.

Withdraw Deadline:

Class:

When you make a class payment you secure your space, thus preventing another student from paying to reserve that class space. For this reason, payments are non-refundable. If you notify Acting Spot by either registered mail or by an email (matt@actingspot.com) 7 days prior to the class start date, your class payment can beapplied to a future class or workshop. A $25 processing fee will apply.

Casting director workshop:

Casting director workshop credits are non-refundable and do not expire. Once you are confirmed for a specific workshop, you must give 48-hours notice to withdraw from that workshop without penalty. Insufficient notice or lack of notice will result in forfeit of 1 workshop credit.

Late Parent Pick-Up Fees:

Parent is required to show up promptly to pick up children after each class has ended. Our teachers, (not staff) will be held responsible for children after hours. Our facility is safe, but you can never be too safe with your child's life. In addition, each child that is not picked up promptly after their respective class has ended will be billed and charged $10 for every fifteen minutes late. (In an emergency situation please call our after hours phone number to communicate if you will be running late.)

Photo Shoots:

A non-refundable deposit of ½ the total cost of the photo shoot is required in order to book an appointment. 48-hours notice is required to change or postpone your appointment. All notices must be through email or phone call to matt@actingspot.com or 323-965-8930. In the case of insufficient notice, client will forfeit the entire deposit. Acting Spot reserves the right to reschedule photo shoots without notice for any reason. (Usually this only happens in emergency situations or bad weather).

Guarantee:

We will re-shoot as many times as is necessary for ESI clients until both the client's agent and managers are happy. We will re-shoot non-ESI clients up to 2 times (3 total shoots) until client's agent is happy with the pictures.

If actor/client is not represented, we will re-shoot until we feel that in Acting Spot's best judgment, the client has good headshot material.
Guarantee becomes void in the case of a client being more than 15 minutes late to their appointment, coming to appointment with less than 10 articles of clothing, or missing a scheduled appointment.
